Our client is one of the leading motor vehicle distributors in the South Pacific region, boasting a wide range of world-recognised franchises covering the passenger vehicle, light commercial, heavy commercial, equipment and machinery product lines. In addition to its retail services, our client also operates parts, service, tyre and panel divisions, as well as a host of complementary associated enterprises and business interests.
Due to them impending departure of the incumbent, due in early 2012, our client is now keen to receive applications and expressions of interest from suitably qualified candidates for the integral post of Group Financial Controller.
You will be joining a large organisation that currently employs over 600 staff throughout key areas in PNG and who is approaching a financial turnover of almost half a billion Kina.
In this role your responsibilities will include the efficient financial management of the company and related statutory affairs, including:
- Treasury control, including foreign exchange considerations.
- Monthly and yearly management account preparation including cash flow and balance sheet.
- Preparation of capital and annual expense budget, debtors and credit control and insurance requirements.
- Taxation management including GST and PAYE.
- Audit management.
- Review and management of all property contracts, tender documentation, advertising and contra deal arrangement.
- Complete overview of the management of the companies salary, wage and performance payments to staff.
- Control of all administrative services and company legal matters.
- Financial input to organisational development solutions and initiatives.
- Control, monitor and coach human resource issues relevant to the accounting department.
This is a very senior position and the ideal applicant must be a degree qualified individual with practical experience in a senior finance role, ideally in the automotive sector. You should also be able to demonstrate suitable ability with treasury management, taxation, as well as company secretarial duties. Given that this role oversees all the financial functions of this organisation, a strategic approach to financial management is required.
A top remuneration package based on a substantial retainer plus performance bonuses will be discussed with the successful applicant.
