Service Manager (AC5011)

Job Description:

Our client is a major franchised, new and used vehicle dealer located in Townsville, on the Great Barrier Reef. They are seeking expressions of interest from experienced automotive Service Managers to take command of their busy service department, which performs approximately 80 RO’s per day. The role reports to the Fixed Operations Manager and the computer system in use is Pentana / Reynolds & Reynolds.

Townsville is the largest population centre north of the Sunshine Coast, being home to almost 200,000 residents. Unofficially, it is considered the capital of North Queensland. The city remains popular with tourists, and backpackers are particularly drawn to Magnetic Island and the Great Barrier Reef. The city has excellent diving and snorkelling facilities, with a variety of vessels using the port as a home base for their reef tourism activities. Townsville has several large public assets as a result of its relative position and population. These include the largest campus of the only university in northern Queensland, James Cook University, the Australian Institute of Marine Science headquarters, Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, the large Army base at Lavarack Barracks and RAAF Base Townsville. Some notable Townsvillians include Julian Assange, Rachael Finch, Mitchell Johnson, Greg Norman, Andrew Symonds and Gordon Tallis.

A very lucrative remuneration package is on offer, comprising a very generous retainer, vehicle and incentives. The dealership represents two top-ten franchises, each of which is currently experiencing strong market growth. The site employs 4 Service Advisors and requires a Manager who takes an active role in ensuring the customers receive an exceptional level of service and attention during their visit. Likewise, your ability to lead a team and effectively communicate with service staff to achieve desired outcomes, must equally be strong.
