Our client is one of the leading motor vehicle distributors in the South Pacific region boasting a wide range of world-recognised franchises covering the passenger vehicle, light commercial, heavy commercial, equipment and machinery product lines. In addition to its retail services, our client also operates parts, service, tyre and panel divisions, as well as a host of complementary associated enterprises.
Papua New Guinea is currently experiencing a massive amount of industrial and commercial growth on the back of its expansive array of natural resources, especially due to the countries deposits of Liquefied Natural Gas. ExxonMobil, Santos and AGL are just some of the global resource prospectors who are, amongst others, expected to invest almost $10 billion (US) over the next few decades.
Given this massive influx of global players in to the PNG market, our client seeks to appoint a National Business Development Manager to target both new business opportunities and to further strengthen and expand current business dealings. To this end your primary responsibility will be to develop the brand awareness and market penetration of our clients vast array of quality automotive products which extends from passenger vehicles, marine products, agricultural machinery all the way through to heavy commercial vehicles.
To be successful in this role it is essential that you be able to demonstrate previous sales management / business development experience within the automotive sector. The successful candidate will be offered a remuneration package consisting of a retainer plus performance bonus, fully maintained company vehicle, secure accommodation, 6 weeks annual leave, return air fares per year to point of recruitment, midyear break fares to either Brisbane or Cairns, full health cover, club membership and much more.
This is a newly developed role and as such, you will be instrumental in and take charge of the business development activities and processes of this organisation which, at present, employs close to 600 staff.
